Dan qualified as an electrician in 2010 and started A.M Electrics in 2011, around the time his first daughter was born. For the first few years, Dan subcontracted to larger electrical companies and worked on projects across the country.

When his second daughter came along, spending so much time working away from home no longer made sense. That was the point A.M Electrics began to develop into the local business it is today, with Dan focusing on customers across South Devon and building the company around a different kind of service.

Dan wanted to offer more than simply turning up, completing the electrical work and leaving. The aim was to give customers the kind of service he felt was often missing from the trade: clear communication, written quotations, turning up when promised, keeping customers updated, respecting their homes and having the same electrician involved from the initial visit through to testing and certification.

Dan still personally carries out the electrical work today, from small domestic jobs and fault finding through to EICRs, consumer unit upgrades, EV chargers and larger installations. He also carries out the surveys, plans the work and oversees the testing and certification, so customers know exactly who is responsible for their job.
