At A.M Electrics Devon Ltd we were recently called out to a property in Princetown on Dartmoor after the customer received an electric shock from their cooker.
As you can imagine, this was extremely concerning for the homeowner and something that should never happen in a properly installed and tested electrical installation.
The customer explained that they had recently had an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out by a large electrical company. Following the inspection, works had apparently been completed to the consumer unit, including upgrading the main tails feeding the fuse board.
However, shortly afterwards the customer started noticing problems and then received a shock from the cooker.
We attended the property the same day to investigate the issue.

After isolating the supply and carrying out initial checks, we removed the cover from the consumer unit to inspect the recent work.
